I know a bevy of web programming acronyms but I' m fluent in: HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, SQL and AS. I always push myself to match my technical knowledge with complimentary design of equal caliber. When that harmony is found websites start to shine.
shearwaterresearch.com (offline) Shearwater Research needed a new website that matched their current position in the industry. Their redesign involved a new look, in-depth product pages, online shopping and a custom backend management system.
theboldergroup.com The Bolder Group is known for creating fantastic digital networks and wanted a website to reflect their expertise. This site really takes advantage of Flash's vector capabilities with a 3D logo intro and massive logo texture background.
onextmedia.com (offline) Before being bought Onext Media had the largest digital screen network in Canada. Their website was their sales tool and wowed customers with 3D transition effects, interactive maps and large images.
creekscrossing.ca (offline) Creeks Crossing is a housing development in Northern Alberta. Before development they needed a website to educate potential residents and achieved this with a beautiful Wordpress based site that they managed themselves.
divetech.net (offline) DiveTech decided to take their computer sales online and wanted a website to manage their inventory online. A custom backend was built that allowed online shopping with detailed computer customization forms.
Kiosks
Kiosks are used for a range of applications with varying interaction patterns and physical sizes. I've developed interfaces for large and small format touchscreens and several digital signage media players. I've also setup and or developed the management and monitoring tools for several digital networks as well as researched the hardware to run the applications.
I know kiosk software and the hardware, if this was cricket you'd call me an all-rounder.
Taxi Headrest A touch screen interface for in the back of taxi cab headrests. Allows passengers to check on local news, weather, restaurants, shopping, hotels, etc...
Mall Directory A touch screen mall directory created to replace standard static directories. Quickly locate stores and other conveniences like ATMs and washrooms.
Airline Waiting Room Player Designed for a small airline waiting room this player shows relevant travel information like flight times, weather, news and advertising.
Onext Media Player Onext Media's digital network required a custom media player. The result was a highly customizable player that could be easily managed remotely.
Restaurant Menu An interactive restaurant menu for display in the waiting area gives customers a chance to peruse the menu while they wait for their seat.
Apps
Apps, formally for desktop computers only and called applications. With diminished screen sizes comes shortening of words to match. I've done desktop apps for both PC and Mac and dabbled with Linux as well. Desktop apps are of course old news so I've cast off into the sea of mobile and worked on iOS, Android and Blackberry.
Remotee A Remote control app for the Boxee and XBMC media centres. Remote was created with Adobe Air and runs on Blackberry Tablet OS, iOS and Android.
Shearwater Desktop A desktop app for both PC and Mac to manage Shearwater Research's line of dive computers. Using a Bluetooth connection to the dive computer users can download dive logs for viewing or update their firmware.
